Unfortunately, our first big salmon was lost just 10 minutes after midnight. But after that, 2 guests were lucky. 10.00 Kg and 9.00 Kg Bright Silver Cracker's. Two more amazing salmon got caught by Espen and Arnt. Well done ! This very good week ends with to more big Salmon who unfortunately got lost after great fight‘s.

Review Orkla 2022. In 2022, the Orkla recorded the best catch since its introduction the catch statistics. Over 32 tons of salmon caught (average so far approx. 17 tons) According to the Orkla fisheries administration the main reasons of the fantastic 2022 catch result a few ago years in-troduced catch limits for anglers in the river and also for net fishing in the fjord. The are accordingly forecast for the coming years are extremly positiv. Fact’s: A total of 154 salmon with an excellent average weight of 5.22 kilos were caught on our beats. (Orkla general 5.10 kg) Our guests landed 1 dream fish from 10.00 to 14.30 kg. The biggest salmon of the 2022 season on our fishery had a length of 113 cm and a weight of 14.30 kg). Again over 80% of the salmon we caught were released. A few salmon had to be killed because they were injured by the hooks and bled to death. These fish were delivered by our guests to the local retirement home. These salmon offer a welcome change in the Menu plan for the elderly in the home. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our guests for the exemplary behavior in order to preserve this extraordinary fish. Total registered catches at Orkla 2022: 6‘316 salmon / 32‘023.5 kg. The largest salmon had a length of 125 cm (approx. 23.60 kg). This season, the Orkla is expected to occupy second place in the ranking of all around 400 salmon rivers in Norway again. .... and if one were to compare the size of the river and the number of fishermen in the first place with the modest size of the Orkla ……………. :-)
Week 33, 34 and 35. 13.08. - 31.08.2022 The last few weeks of the salmon season are always very exciting. There are many salmon of all sizes in the river. And of course the latecomers who are still enter the orkla. You never know what might suddenly pull at the other end of your fly line. It can be one of the beautiful colored resident salmon or one of the fresh incoming salmon. However, also during the last weeks of this great season our guests had excellent fishing and caught some more fantastic fish. Week 31 / 32, 30.07. - 13.08.2022 The salmon run and fishing on the Orkla is still excellent. In the meantime, more than 28 tons have been registered in the 2022 statistics. This result is a good sign that the fishing and salmon population on the Orkla will continue to be excellent for years ! Our large group from Austria was also able to benefit from the excellent conditions. The river and our beats are full of salmon that show up all the time. All participants had at least contacts. unfortunately not all fish could be landed. The largest salmon in this group weighed 9.00 Kg and was landed and released carefully by Andreas. Well done. Also in week 32 we had excellent fishing, but unfortunately a very few fishermen. After a long fight, Peter lost what is probably his biggest salmon so far, but he was able to land 4 beautiful salmon during the week anyway and release them all carefully. Well done Peter. Week 29 / 30, 16.07. - 30.07.2022 At the end of the week we equaled the previous best mark in annual catches on the Orkla. And there is still a whole month until the end of the season. This means that we can still enjoy fantastic fishing on the Orkla and of course particular on our beats. Unfortunately, our guests sometimes have problems with canceled flights and luggage that doesn't arrive on time. No problem for us! We can help out with full equipment and wading gear until the luggage arrives. For one week in August (Week 32) we still have a few rods available. Week 28, 09.07. - 16.07.2022 in a normal year the result after the whole season is about 18 tons. We registered 20 tons of caught salmon on the orkla now ! And we are only halfway through the 2022 salmon season !!!!!! Record so far. And the excellent fishing on our beats at the Orkla also continues. Unfortunately we were only a few fishermen this week who could experience a great fishing. As usual, several salmon could not be landed but we managed to caught 19 salmon this week. The biggest salmon with exactly 10 kg and 100 cm. All 19 salmon were carefully released. Well done guys. For some weeks in July (Week 29 and 31) and August (Week 32 and 34) we still have a few rods available. Week 27, 02.07. - 09.07.2022 On Saturday the river flowed very fast up to about 500 m3. At this time of the year it is not normal that several large floods hit the orkla. Even 11 fishermen had to be rescued from islands by helicopter. Unfortunately no chance to fish over the weekend. But since Monday morning, the water of the Orkla is sinking again and the fishing is starting to get very good again. Unfortunately, our guests lost many fish during these days. Towards the end of this week it got really cold. The air temperature was only 9 to 10 degrees and the water temperature also dropped to around 7 degrees. So actually a typical summer in Trondelag :-) Unfortunately, this had an impact on the biting mood of the salmon and fewer salmon were caught in the river. Now almost the first half of the salmon season is over and amazing 18 tonnes have been caught so far. If the excellent fishing on the Orkla continues like this, we will see a record year on the Orkla. Because we're only halfway through the season !! Week 24, 11.06. - 18.06.2022 Orkla is still on fire ! The first weeks of the season are usually very difficult. The hunt for the coveted big salmon of the orkla has never been easy. But again our guests had another great week of salmonfishing. 15 salmon were landed. The biggest of the weeks from our Swedish fisherman Kent with a fantastic 10.50 kg. The largest salmon on the Orkla was caught with the worm this week. 23.60 kg / 125 cm. Directly below our stretch "Blasmo" 2 days before this catch our Norwegian guest Ola lost a very big salmon after a long fight (40min) in Blasmo. …..who knows. Week 25, 18.06. - 25.06.2022 The fishing on the orkla is consistently good. Big fish are caught and now the first grilse come into the river. The biggest salmon of the week was caught by our new guest Robert from Austria and carefully released again. 114 cm / 14.00 Kg. Well done Robert. Another incredible Orkla giant was caught this week. This time with the Fly. 20.40 Kg / 124 cm. Week 26, 25.06. - 02.07.2022 At the beginning of this week we got a lot of rain. Early Saturday morning, just before the heavy rain started, Petra was able to land her first Orkla salmon. Well done Petra. The river flowed briefly up to 400 m3. (Normally about 40 - 80 m3). For a day fishing was out of the question and our guests could relax and prepare themselves when the water starts to sink. Because at this time you should definitely be on the water. Often you then have a very good chance of experiencing great fishing for fresh salmon. Our guests were able to land 13 salmon this week. Unfortunately, about the same number of fish were lost after more or less long fights. Towards the end of this week, heavy rain sets in again and the Orkla rises again. Also this week a super salmon of 20 kg was caught at the river Orkla. Tight Lines. Week 23, 04.06. - 11.06.2022 The truly excellent start to the season looks set to continue seamlessly. The water level is sinking slowly and continuously. Perfect conditions for successful fishing. 2 of our new guests from Scotland were already successful on their second day. 9.80 kg for Colin and 6.90 kg for Andy. Congratulation ! A day later, Björn was also able to land a beautiful female with 102 cm. I was lucky today and after a hard fight I was able to land a 97 cm salmon. At the moment the fishing on the Orkla is almost perfect. The Scottish party continued to be extremely successful. James was on fire and landed an incredible 12kg silver torpedo. Followed by 2 more dream fish of 9.00 kg each. Until then, Stephel, the fourth of the group, was unfortunately unsuccessful. But then.... within 3 hours Stephen was able to land a cracker of 11 kg and his personal best of 14.30 kg. Well done guys. Unfortunately our Norwegian guest Ola wasn't so lucky. After more than 30 minutes of hard fighting, he lost a "giant salmon". Don't despair Ola, next year it will work. Orkla is on fire !
